Mortgage rates continue to fall!

Our trusted mortgage advisor, Charlotte from Bond & Associates Financial Services Limited, recently reported that it has been a GREAT start to the year with lenders announcing substantial rate reductions.
In fact, average mortgage rates have fallen to their lowest level in seven months and they are anticipating that 2024 will have further reductions.

For an idea of current rates – these are valid as of 10th January only and are subject to change.
Deposit Size 2 Year Fixed 5 Year Fixed
5% 4.99% 4.64%
10% 4.80% 4.02%
20% 4.34% 3.98%
25% 4.18% 3.92%
40% 4.10% 3.89%

They are seeing cuts from a number of lenders including HSBC, Halifax and Santander.  As a result, there are now a number of lenders offering rates below 4% (no lenders offered fixed rates below 5% in November).
Reassuringly they have also seen Buy-To-Let rates come down, with the average 2-year fix falling to 5.83% - after almost reaching 7% last summer!
